Come now, you can't be serious. He had a nice run, but....it was time for some new blood. What did you like so much about Pierce?

I agree bring back pierce. Daniel just has not got that class that Bond needs. Pierce has the looks, can be very hard and ruthless and is not a softy. Look what they did to Daniel? Quit MI5 for a woman who double crossed him. Pierce is by far the best bond, yes even better than Sean

" Quit MI5 for a woman who double crossed him. "First of all MI6 NOT MI5 Also, Your joking. Craig's got the right makrs for Bond, where as Pierce couldn't really pull it off. Besides, he was too old. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'd rather see a return to the Brosnan style films (where he manages to kill the main bad guy, and the woman doesn't die), than actually see him come back. But that's not going to happen, and maybe it's a good thing.

Eh, i'd see Christmas as the main love interest in that, i know that Casino Royale wasn't the first time the girl died, but that wasn't the only way they changed the formula.

every other Bond had much more class than Craig but the worst part was seeing him coming out of the water in a bikini. Didn't they usually have the women do that. and couldn't they find some screen time for moneypenny and Q.

I don't vote for bringing back Pierce - BUT - I'd really like to see Clive Owen take the Bond role. He has the right stuff, the Connery for the new millenium. And yes, lets see Q , "Penny and Tanner back in as 007's support group. ...........................................C.

It think Pierce had at least one more good Bond movie in him. I know it's out of step with Fleming's vision , I always thought Bond played well as an older man (not older in the sense of Grandpa Moore doing gymnastics on the Golden Gate Bridge, but older in the sense of a 50ish veteran of the game, graying at the temples, been around the block, known and respected in every club and casino in the world). To me, Brosnan embodied the "Commander Bond" side of the character perfectly, and I would have liked to see Bond age along with Pierce. I do like what they're doing now with Craig, but the series reboot effectively means the "Commander Bond" side of 007 is gone (as are all of the character's ties to the Cold War). 0 out of 1 found this valuable. In a way I agree. CR should've been Pierce's last movie and NOT a re-boot. THEN Clive Owen. The "Commander Bond" came from JB being in the Navy in WW2. If he was in the "War",he was prob'ly in his early 20's,by CR--30-ish then by MWTGG/OP/LD he'd be around 50-ish.(one of the reasons the movies should've been done in book order). In this so-called "re-boot" 007 is brought from the SAS/SBS into MI6,so - the "Commander" and Cold War goes by the board. ...........................................C. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Brosnan may not have surpassed Sean Connery in the role of 007, but Brosnan did something very important: he helped bring the character back from the brink!!!!!Locking him out the gate was just bloody disrespectful!!!!! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'm so over it! I mean I tried ...I really did. I event went to go see 'Quantam" this weekend, and Craig just doesn't bring that charming personality the way Pierce did. Bring Pierce back already! The action almost gave me a headache...and there is no real story...ugggggggh! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Craig is closer to the Flemming Bond Character than any other previous bond. A cold blooded mean killer. Being a Flemming Novel Fan first, I can't wait to see the films finally start resembling the real James Bond Character. Now if they could only start following the stories from the Flemming Novels.

Considering the money he made for the franchise, his firing was an ugly bit of business. And make no mistake, he was the first 007 to be summarily dismissed by the producers; Connery, Lazenby, and Moore all left on their own. Box-office may have been down on LTK, but it was Dalton who walked away from the role when legal matters prevented the series from continuing in the early 90's. Brosnan expressed interest in making a proper version of CASINO ROYALE, so he couldn't have known at that time that DIE ANOTHER DAY was to be his final turn as 007.
