Fall drive anyone?
Sep 24 2007, 9:57 PM EDT This September it's all about the cars. So many greats. From the classic DB5 to the Lotus Esprit from the early 80s. Which car is your favorite? 9 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sep 24 2007, 9:58 PM EDT It's got to be the 750il. I enjoyed the sports cars and all, but the 750 offers performance, luxury, room for several bond babes in the back, and that snappy remote control. BMW = Bond Motor Works. Do you find this valuable? |

Sep 25 2007, 2:13 AM EDT DB5. It's the standard by which every other car is measured. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Fall drive anyone?
Sep 26 2007, 1:47 AM EDT Hard to argue with the first in the series. Although partial to Connery as the classic, I grew up with Moore so the 80s Lotus has a special place in my heart. And not just because it was also a sub-marine. Though - who can regret that awful turn in Cannonball Run? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Fall drive anyone?
Sep 26 2007, 8:31 AM EDT yeah. i guess it comes down to different qualities that make the different cars great. the loti (?) had some of the best gadgets, but they look like shiney door-stops. some of the more modern astons look to be incredible (and pricey) vehicles, but i'm not really much of a fan of the gadgets. the 750 recalls bond's original bentley mark IV from the novels and later . the mark IV may have been a sports car back in the day, but it's a beast of a car. bond also got hold of a bentley continental in thunderball (novel) and even though it's only got two doors, it's a hoopty by all modern standards. so in other words, the 750's size makes it a bit more realistic for bond given the novels. i think all the cars, like all the actors, bring something to our notions of "bond" 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Oct 6 2007, 12:18 AM EDT My favorite car is the Aston Martin DB5. I own a DB5 and its handling and perfomance is great. I tuned the original engine to give it more horsepower. It is my favorite car. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Fall drive anyone?
Nov 13 2007, 6:37 PM EST It's funny...when I moved to Whidbey Island, one of the first cars I saw along the 525 was an Aston Martin DB6---the one with the duck-tail on the boot--those classic Aston Martins are one of the few cars I can identify a mile away. I saw it a week later tooling around Aurora Avenue. Keep your eye out for it, Alex. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Fall drive anyone?
Nov 13 2007, 6:40 PM EST Oh...and has everyone seen that video of the racing Aston Martin, that wheeled into reverse...and took flight? The spoiler on the back acted as a wing, and the thing took off. And because those A-M's just don't flip (not without a LOT of help ala "Casino Royale"), it landed right side up. It actually stayed in the air and travelled farther than the Wright Brothers original flight. If I can find the link I'll post it below. Do you find this valuable? |

Jan 27 2008, 7:16 PM EST "My fave as well"I really dig the Aston Martin as its the first movie "Bond car" BUT I'd love to see them put him in a Bentley ala Flemings early books. If your going to make the new 007 movies more Fleming - ish --- get him a Bentley !! THAT would be cool! Do you find this valuable? |
