Connery, Lazenby,Dalton, Brosnan all were very much like the vision IF had.......Craig seems to be trying to hard to be a tough-guy, while Moore was just a clown. MAN,I hope they someday get it back to Fleming's Bond -- the actor, the scripts, the production, refering to the books etc.......................................................................C. No doubt Daniel Craig is the youngest and quickest witted Bond yet but he lacks the true Jame's Bond feature, the originals are always the best. Do you find this valuable? |

Craig takes the crown as the best. However, connery was superb. Moore was allright but he was a bit cheesy. Then Lazenby and then DALTON. But brosnan was terrible. Far too cheesy. HE was good at the womanizing part but not at the rest of it

Well, I really like Craig. But if you're going to give props to Craig you have to give them to Lazenby too. They both give off that "I found my groove in the Royal Navy and now I'm trying to figure out this whole MI6 gig" vibe. I like Connery and Moore with their "I was born in a suit that costs more than you make in a month" thing. Problem is, that's a whole different Bond. It's really tough to picture a hard-boiled SAS veteran who is trained to kill a man with his bare hands, proceeding to manicure his fingernails. But to Connery's credit, he made it a whole lot easier with that fight with Red Grant. As far as folding all this stuff together seamlessly, I think you have to give it to Dalton. hmm this is a tough one...Im probobly gonna get hated for this BUT... Im putting my list like this: Roger Moore(the first british to play bond, and no matter how far away he was from flemings bond, he made the movies more than just spy movies) Sean Connery( can't really put one of the best actors in the world any lower on the list than this... hee's the best actor ever to play bond, but not as beeing bond^^) Thimothy Dalton (No superhero, Not the brosnan dodge it all style, at least not all the time. And The living daylights IS the truest bond ever, really where the character came from) Pirce Brosnan(face it he still did better in his first movie than craig did) Craig(he can step it up my list in the future^^ at least as far as 3) Lazenby (Im not a lazenby hater, he did evrything right, should not have turned down the contract, he had potential to beat roger moores acting, he just did not take the shot, and its probobly best that way) Do you find this valuable? |

Sean Connery might had given mind blowing performances because he was young during his Bond tenure.Would he have given the same if he was in his late 40's,early 50's and late 50's like Roger Moore.Sean Connery was unimpressive in Never Say Never Again unlike Roger Moore who is cunning and energetic in Octopussy and the fact is Moore is more older than Connery.Surely,Roger Moore deserves the kudos.

Can't agree on your fact that Moore had devolved after his 4th movie. He was pretty impressive in For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy for a man for his age

OK, I believe we are basing this on which one of the movie Bonds we believe are the best. I have never read any of the books so I don't really know how Bond is suppose to be, but here are my rankings.1. Sean Connery - First Bond, set the standard and was around when the author was still writing the character of Bond, so he probably got tips from Flemming about how Bond would react in certain situations. He was and forever will be the best Bond in my mind. 2. Daniel Craig - A new Bond for a new era. With the author of the books past and most of the production staff from the original Bond films gone, Bond needed a reinvention in order to survive in a post cold war, terrorist threat, equality for everyone world. What I like about his Bond is that he still has his charming side without coming off like a sleazy womanizer (see Roger Moore below). Although Mr. Craig will not beat out Mr. Connery for the best bond ever, he is definitely the best replacement Bond and can stand on his own as the Best Bond of this generation. 3. Pierce Brosnan - I thought that Mr. Brosnan was a good replacement, but still lacked the changes needed to fit in with the audiences new way of looking at the world. Even in his performance in 'Die Another Day' where we see a rough and scruffy Bond and then a rogue vengeance, it was to me an attempt by the studio to reinvent Brosnan's character and felt contrived. 4. Timothy Dalton - Never did like him, probably never will. 5. Roger Moore - I grew up during the Roger Moore years and the first Bond movie I ever saw was 'The Spy Who Loved Me', I fell in love with the gadgets. But watching Mr. Moore when I was older, he seemed like a sleazy womanizer with a disgusting mole. 6. George Lazenby & David Niven - What can i say about them, One movie each. Lazenby "filling in" as Bond and Niven being a caricature of Bond And that is my assesment. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Oh, I forgot to add that Roger Moore was initially offered the role of Bond, but turned it down. It wasn't until after Connery made the role popular that Moore considered it. I don't care if he was contractually obligated to some other role, the studio would not have offered unless they knew he could have gotten out of it. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
