RE: roger moore movies
Jun 20 2007, 1:40 PM EDT Here's my list of Roger Moore "honors:" No. 1: Live and Let Die (it had to be good or there wouldn't have been any further Moore Bonds); No. 2: For Your Eyes Only ( OK plot, good villains, not a lot of "over the top" gadgets); No. 3: Probably The Man With the Golden Gun (Christopher Lee is excellent!) After that they go downhill fast, but I don't really blame Moore's performances for any of that. He did the best he could with some really stupid plots (The Spy Who Loved Me & Moonraker, for example.) Tanya Roberts in A View to a Kill is so annoying I've never even sought to own that one. But to be fair, I happily paid to watch every one of the Moore movies as they came out. And while much of Moonraker is just a re-hashed "Road Runner" cartoon, I still liked Richard Kiel as Jaws, and the opening sequence is maybe the coolest of all the Bond films, so I can't be too critical. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. RE: roger moore movies
Jun 25 2007, 7:56 PM EDT I'm not Mr. Berg, but I don't mind throwing my hat in the ring on this question. I have watched all of Roger Moore's movies at least 3 times over, and hope I have some credibility on a best to worst list. Here is my list from best to worst. #1 The Spy Who Loved Me (Gotta Love Jaws)! #2 Octopussy (Can you picture 007 telling a wildcat to "Sit"). #3 The Man With The Golden Gun (Midgets, Fake Nipples, Flying Cars.) enough said #4 Live and Let Die (Bedding Doctor Quinn can't be all that bad!) #5 For Your Eyes Only (Action Packed, Moore's most dramatic performance as Bond) #6 A View To A Kill (His age shows in this one, but Christopher Walken saves the day) #7 Moonraker (More Jaws, but the plot is a bit much-and Drax is an inept adversary) Well there you have it. I hope this helps. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 23 2008, 12:22 PM EDT "#2 Octopussy (Can you picture 007 telling a wildcat to "Sit").He has some great lines in Octopussy. Telling the snake to "hiss off", and pushing the kid overboard and saying "I'm afraid i'll have to owe you". Do you find this valuable? |

And wheres From Russia w/ Love?"Well i didn't think that Moonraker was that bad really. It had some great action sequences, and the opening scene was one of, if not the best. However i think if they based it more on the book, it could have been a lot better. Do you find this valuable? |

However i think if they based it more on the book, it could have been a lot better."That's how I feel, too. I just went through Moonraker (haven't seen it in years), and really, I didn't mind it that much! I think the whole Jaws-Dolly romance is a bit silly, but it's what inspires him to switch sides..I thought Bernard Lee's "M" was wonderful--he had great moments to go out on. I thought Derek Meddings' effects work was pretty dang amazing for what it was. I think Jaws is a silly character, and they make too much ofhim, but Richard Kiel...man, he just squeezed every last drop of entertainment potential out of that character...he was very impressive. The ladies....never much liked Holly Goodhead, but Lois Chiles is at her best when she's not talking--she's pretty good when her flat line-readings aren't distracting you. And the gal who played Manuela? Ouch! And I like Michael Lonsdale--his Drax has kind of the same persona as Droopy Dog from the cartoons, very calm--very dry, very subtle..not much of a shouter. It's the elements of slapstick that bug me about "Moonraker"--but I was surprised how much of it I did enjoy. And yes, the sky-diving fight is so over the top exciting and wild, it's a terrific sequence. I'd like to see them make a new version of the book, too. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Apr 16 2008, 4:49 PM EDT I-Live and Let Die (Best one in the series! Paul McCartney's theme Awsome, Dr. Quinn hot girl. Boat/Alligater scene speechless, so much moore to name) II-The Man with the Golden Gun (Bond's equal SCARAMANGA) III-Moonraker (Good plot, Bond vs. Jaws II, "Heartbroken Mr. Drax") IV-Octopussy (Barry's theme awsome, train/car chase scenes good) V- For Your Eyes Only (Had a few good points to it) VI-A View To A Kill (Plot weak, Could have had a better girl/villian) 0 out of 1 found this valuable.
