Bond 23: "Skyfall"?
Oct 7 2011, 9:30 PM EDT | Post edited: Oct 7 2011, 9:30 PM EDT
Recent rumors floating about the net over the last day or so saying that MGM and Sony have registered the domain name 'Skyfall', with shooting on the next Bond film to begin in days.
They have registered the web-names JamesBond-Skyfall.com and Skyfallthefilm.com.

What do you fellow Bond fans think? Will Skyfall actually be the name of the next film? I could see it working; it's short and easy to say and rolls off of the tongue much smoother than Quantum Of Solace.
One of those evocative one-word titles like Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye...
Share your thoughts on whether you think it will be the title, and whether or not you think it is a good title...

If this is the name of the movie I would be ok with it! And I agree, it does have a better ring to it rather than Quantum of Solace. And, like you (6-stringa007) said, some of the other one-word titles like Goldfinger...etc, let's hope it lives up to the expectations of those movies! All I know is we've only got approximately 1 year and 29 1/2 days until it's released (in the U.S.A.)!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what to think of this....but read this article. Personally, I do not like the idea of it if it is indeed true...your thoughts? It's not spam, I promise. The title is "Bond 23 Ditches The Action As Sam Mendes Eyes Up Oscars". Copy and paste the following link in a new internet window.....

Yes I've been reading these articles over the last week or so, and I think it is just speculation/gossip started by The Examiner or The Guardian (one or the other - I forget which).

However I do think that the next film will indeed be less action-packed than the awesome but over-kinetic Quantum Of Solace; that's a good thing though IMO.

Look at how Casino Royale was structured; it was over two hours long but still well paced, with three major action scenes spread throughout and plenty of good, snappy dialogue and edgy espionage plotting and intrigue in between.

There was mention of a train scene in India being scrapped but I think this may have been misinterpreted, as they have indeed opted to not shoot in India, but South Africa instead. There still could be a big train set-piece yet.

I'm not really worried about these rumors, cos I reckon Bond #23 will be going back to the Casino Royale template (good mix of action and plotting) and be less action-orientated than QoS, but there will still be some action. ;)
