Response to "New Bond Too Violent".

I agree that Casino Royale was too violent for a Bond movie. I enjoyed it, but Craig's protrayal of the character was so overwhelmingly harsh and nihilistic that I had real difficulty trying to get myself to like the character. The main villain wasn't great either. Very entertaining movie nonetheless.

You should really read the actual Bond books before complaining about the new movies being too violent.It's not really a matter of making the Bond films as violent as they can be, it's simply a matter of Bond being taken back to his roots. And as for Craig being "harsh and nihilistic"? Again; this isn't supposed to be a Moore/Brosnan type of Bond, this is an interpretation of the ORIGINAL Bond character - who is basically an assassin after all, and isn't necessarily supposed to be the MOST likeable guy in the world. He's brutal and to-the-point. No fluffing araound at all. Best Bond actor of them all IMO. And Le Chiffre was one of the best villains! Mads Mikkelson did a great job with the part. It was soooo refreshing to have a villain who for once DIDN'T want to take over/rule/destroy the world. Back to good ol' terrorism, spys, double-crossing and grittiness. Glad you still enjoyed the film tho, my favorite of the franchise! 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

The main villain wasn't great either. Very entertaining movie nonetheless. "I believe Moore said that same thing about AVTAK. I think he preferred the more classy suave Bond be made in his movies. That said... Its defiantly not too violent. The new Bond movies are going with the novels of Ian Flemming. I think it works very well with today's type of action movies. Do you find this valuable? |

Casino Royale should have been 15.As for Skyfall, well, I personaly founs it to be less violent thaan cr or qos Do you find this valuable? |
