Your favorite Q?

"I'm a big fan too of Cleese, especially in Fawlty Towers,not so much in a 007 movie,its too much like the "old chaps slapping each other on the back with monocles and club ties" that Fleming DID'NT want...and we all miss Desmond.I liked him in the early movies when he was SOOO serious about his work. I hope they bring back this charactor in QoS but more like Peter Burton in Dr.No.,a pro who knew what weapons were practical and not ,repeat not making stuff like invisible cars or sci-fi type "gadgets". Q(or Armorer) is relative to the storys as is M,Tanner,Penny,Leiter...Bonds extended family...................................................................C. Do you find this valuable? |

Cleese did well but i just love how Desmond Llewelyn character despised Bond. Much more of a hate/respect relationship going on with these two. Much better Do you find this valuable? |

Oct 5 2008, 6:38 PM EDT I liked desmond a lot and he definitely set the pace for the character's wit and comebacks to Bond's lines. But I am huge fan John Cleese from things like Monty Python and other things. Cleese plays the character very well but I dont think he had a chance to really establish himself as Q because he was only in two movies, and only one as Q. He needs to be brought back in Bond 23, the character and Cleese I mean. I dont know what the producers were thinking dropping Moneypenny and Q from the new ones. There shouldnt have been new ones in the first place. Anyway, rambling here, Cleese is the best I think. Do you find this valuable? |
