The Saint: Roger Moore's Remington Steele?

Roger Moore was the first choice to portray Bond but due to the contract of The Saint, the role went to Sean Connery.

Do you think The Saint was Roger Moore's Remington Steele?

He also did The Persuaders before he was confirmed as Bond.
