Bond 23 theme - what would work
Sep 21 2009, 12:37 PM EDT | Post edited: Sep 21 2009, 12:37 PM EDT
You know, I think they would be good for a bond theme. I would prefer them over Jack White and Alicia Keys, no offense to them, but i thought "Another way to die" was pretty interesting, but i think it went a bit too over the top.
I think Muse would do a good job or the group H.I.M., both groups have a great sound and would definitely fit in with Daniel Craig's films. I just hope that whoever gets the job of writing and singing the theme does a good job and takes the music back to a sound like- "Duran Duran's A view to a kill",
"A-ha's The living daylights", or "Chris Cornell's you know my name."

I agree with you dude, I think that Muse or HIM would be great for the bond theme, but if anything i think Duffy would be really good too. Another way to die was a let down after you know my name. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

The producers missed a real opportunity with Keys, who could have delivered a classic Bond song in best "Shirley Bassey-style." That may not have been what radio wanted, but then again it's been a longgg time since a Bond theme was an automatic smash.

Shirley Bassey
John Berry score
David Arnold score

Tool! If they did a cool song around 3 - 4 minutes in length (some of the tracks from their later albums are longer) then I reckon they'd work...
I can just imagine a Bond title sequence kicking in starting with some guitar melody from Adam Jones.

Very true, Anon. It takes more than getting famous by singing like a little girl on Youtube to sing a Bond song. That's what these teenie boppers don't realise...

NOOOOO! MUSE completely sold out on their last album after the whole Twilight thing. Tool performing the theme would be amazing! I actually liked Another way to die, i thought it was a new take on the bond theme with a more brooding nature rather than just arbitrary orchestral numbers.

My list:
1. Adele (Billie Holiday INCARNATE)
2. Tool or A Perfect Circle (Prog-metal with lots of cool atmospherics)
3. Incubus (known for their innovative use of the DJ, harmonics, and interesting chord progressions)
4. The Strokes (the punk version of the white stripes)
5. Duffy (great voice and some old world charm but Adele still takes the cake)

"1. Adele"
spot on. Adele plus strings and horns would cause me to exit the theatre and smoke a cigarette after the title sequence.
