Chronological order of Bond films
Jul 16 2009, 6:31 AM EDT
I know it's impossible to make a perfect chronological order out of Bond films but this is how I see it:Chronologically from the first to the last: 1. Casino Royale 2. Quantum of Solace 3. Goldeneye 4. Tomorrow never dies 5. Dr. No 6. From Russia with love 7. For your eyes only 8. Thunderball 9. Live and let die 10. You only live twice 11. On her majesty's secret service 12. Diamonds are forever 13. Goldfinger 14. Moonraker 15. Octopussy 16. The living daylights 17. The man with the golden gun 18. The spy who loved me 19. A view to a kill 20. License to kill 21. The world is not enough 22. Die another day What do you think? 34 out of 76 found this valuable. Do you? |

The correct chronological order of James Bond films goes like this, with these first five being pure classics, and having Sean Connery as the original movie actor for the character James Bond 007: Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967). See the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) page for Albert R. Broccoli, the producer of most of the Bond films at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0110482/ , which should help establish a more correct order for the entire James Bond 007 film history. Also see at IMDB the entry for Harry Saltzman, who held the movie option to the Bond books by Ian Fleming, and who formed a partnership with Albert R. Broccoli, who together co-produced many of these films, especially the early ones. --SN 6 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I know it's impossible to make a perfect chronological order out of Bond films but this is how I see it:Though youd have to split up Goldeneye, as the pretitle was back in the Soviet era, and the rest was 5 or 7 years later. So I'm guessing some of the other missions took place in that gap. 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You forgot NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN."No I didn't. NSNA is just a remake of Thunderball so I didn't think it's worth to be put on the list. I also realized that FYEO must be after DAF because Blofeld (possibly) dies at its beginning. And good point QuartermasterQ. I think I'll make a new list and move Goldeneye to be further than now. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Here comes (possibly) a better list:1.Casino Royale 2. Quantum of Solace 3.Tomorrow Never Dies 4. Dr. No 5. From Russia With Love 6. Live And Let Die 7. Thunderball 8. Goldfinger 9. You Only Live Twice 10. ON Her Majestys Secret Service 11. Diamonds Are Forever 12. For Your Eyes Only 13.Moonraker 14. Octopussy 15. The Living Daylights 16. The Man With The Golden Gun 17. The Spy Who Loved Me 18. A View To A Kill 19. License To Kill 20. Goldeneye 21. The World Is Not Enough 22. Die Another Day 1 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

My one issue with this order is that in For Your Eyes Only, the opening scene bond lays flowers beside Teresa (a.k.a. Tracy) Bond's grave. So this implies I would think that For Your Eyes Only has to follow Bond's marriage in On Her Majesty's Secret Service to Tracy Di Vicenzo.

And these are the more accurate reasons why FYEO comes after DAF: 1. Blofeld has a wheelchair. Probably because of the crash Bond caused to him in DAF. 2. Bond most likely kills Blofeld. 3. And still, you can lay flowers beside graves as long as you live yourself. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'd like to ask how did you end up with that kind of list Mr. Anon? It's almost like the order of release of Bond-films. And there's a small error. It's George Lazenby, not Roger. But i think we all agree that Casino Royale should be first because in it Bond becomes a 00-agent. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"You forgot NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN."with this order it doesnt make since because in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Bond gets married at the end and his wife is shot and killed. It is later mentioned again in "For Your Eyes Only" when Bond is visiting her grave in the beginning sequence so there is n way For Your Eyes can go before On Her Majesty's Secret Service 1 out of 2 found this valuable.
