""Spy" was really just a dry run for "Moonraker.""
LOL... I wouldn't call it "dry", especially during the finale and other scenes at Strombergs lair. Even Roger Moore himself has said that TSWLM is his favorite Bond film with him in it (he's also said that AVTAK was his worst - and I agree there too). :)

"which one?"
That Roger Moore thinks his best Bond film was TSWLM and his worst was AVTAK - he has actually said this, in case you're wondering. :)

I preferred Casino Royale but Quantum of Solace is definitely in my top ten as well. Some really good scenes in this one... the opening car chase, the Quantum meeting at the opera and the dogfight with the old plane in the desert just to name a few. :)

Some people complain about the action scenes being too quickly edited. Perhaps, but this didn't bother me too much. I thought it was the dialogue scenes that went by too fast at times... The movie coulda been a bit longer with more scenes between Bond and Mathis, as well as Bond and Fields. A little more plot development during the first half hour too wouldn't have hurt, but I still enjoyed QoS overall. :)

Sorry to break from the line but Octopussy is the worst Moore-adventure on my opinion.

So true! Those two and DAD are my three worst James Bond films. LALD wasn't perfect but it was an improvement over DAF. It's more realistic approach after moon buggies and laser satellites is probably what won me over. Same with Timothy Bond after the absurd AVTAK and Craig after DAD. I always preferred the harder-edged, gritty espionage style of Bond over the special effects and silly one-liners. But LALD was fun. :)

Concur - Jane Seymour made a great, very unique Bond girl. Certainly better than Tiffany Case and Mary Goodnight in my mind... Plus I thought Kananga and Samedi were cool villains too. And that croc-hoppin' scene - one of my favorite scenes out of Rogers films. :)
