"Craig has two more movies on his current deal. Who's next in line? Do you think a slightly older Robert (this would be 4 years from now mind you) could pull this off? What if he took a bath and got a haircut?"Never mind..This time is Henry Cavill chance,,and no question about that.. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Yep I agree whoever nominated Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron for Bond must not really be Bond fans as those two are way off the scale of being perfect canidates to be the next Bond. I also agree with Clive Owen being a perfect canidate to be the next Bond."Taylor Lautner 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Should have been Hugh Jackman this time around (he actually has acting talent and looks like Bond), I still think he would be young enough to pull it off."George Clooney would be a good choice. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Not true! Burt Reynolds and Adam West were both under consideration to replace Connery, and John Gavin was actually under contract for DAF when Connery returned at the last minute."I'd love to see what West would do with the role. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Michael Fassbender...he actually seemed like Bond in xmen first class, especially the bar scene not to mention the tooth scene or the clothes and style he dressed in.

"Craig has two more movies on his current deal. Who's next in line? Do you think a slightly older Robert (this would be 4 years from now mind you) could pull this off? What if he took a bath and got a haircut?"No Way! Richard Armitage is perfect! He has the Bond look - tall, dark and handsome-and the class of Timothy's Bond that is so needed again! Richard has the qualities of the older Bonds- smooth and suave- and he can be tough too(Lucas North MI5). Listen up Ms. Broccoli- Richard is Bond!!! Do you find this valuable? |

As much as I would love seeing Clive Owen as 007, we have to face the fact that even if Craig quits after Skyfall, Owen will be 48 already. MGM won't invest in a Bond that can give them only 2 movies (best case scenario). Even Dalton was slated for at least 3--legal troubles and wasting of time drove Dalton from the franchise. Also, most of this discussion is suggesting actors who mainly look the part. If Moore's tenure has taught us anything, it's that to hedge our bets we need a strong 007 actor because once 007 is ridiculed, the entire series goes downhill. People mentioned here that I could see as Bond (** indicates someone that has been considered by MGM recently for the role): Michael Fassbender Karl Urban (solid actor; different kind of good looking but it could work) Jamie Bamber (I must say, his acting in the Hornblower series was laudable) Jude Law** (handsome, suave and boy can he act! he just needs to fix the whole balding issue...) Dominic West** (his role on The Wire reminds me very much of a the grittier, Dalton Bond that I love so much, while also throwing in TASTEFUL humor IN MODERATION) Maybe Ioan Gruffudd** (while we're on the Hornblower streak...not sure if he looks the part but has the acting ability) Christian Bale** (would love it but he's only just gotten off of Batman...I'd wait a couple of years to let that die down) Sam Worthington** (just not sure if he has the acting chops to do it) No Gerard Butler (love him to death but sorry. he keeps getting fat, doesn't have the Bond class, can't pull off a believable British accent for a second, and his strength lies in being shirtless rather than in a tux) Zac Efron, JoBros, Robert Pattinson, JBeebs (no comment necessary) All I remember, ask me for my view on others. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Fassbender. But when I think even more on it, shouldn't we be thinking about letting Bond go? I mean, sooner or later we're going to have to address the continuity thing. Bond is literally 80 something.(assuming he was around 30 years of age in Dr. No). We've almost exhausted all of Fleming's storylines. Most of the original cast is dead. (Q, M, Moneypenny). Gotta end sometime....Nah! Do you find this valuable? |
