have you ever been to a pawn shop, kiki? i imagine that neurosurgeons don't have much business at pawn shops.

DON'T take it to a pawn shop. pawn shops don't know anything about books. they might give you a nickle. a half-price book shop might give you 50 cents, if they're actually staffed with people who read books. check out what similar books are going for on ebay. i see a 1961 original hardback thunderball going for about 660$ in pretty decent shape. there's a 1965 "trillogy" (TB, TSWLM, FYEO) signed by richard kiel for around 200$.

if you plan to take it to a pawn shop, send me a message. i'll buy it for 10$.

I dont know what it's value would be, but it would definitely be worth getting valued, I would go to a book dealership or specialist in James Bond memoribilia. I would go to specialised places. By the sounds of it, the one you have could be very rare, as the first first edition book is dated 1953, Casino Royale

Another potential is to take it into a local auction house to get a valuation. With it being one as early as you say it is, you didnt say which book, but I presume its Casino Royale, it could be of some value. Do you find this valuable?
