Fighting Bambi and Thumper

As the two attack Bond, beat him pretty hard and try to kill him in the pool, I think this is a serious fight, which ends as if it wasnt really a fight about surviving or dying. Bond manages to exhaust them by repeatedly dunking them, but finally lets them go instead of holding them under long enough to drown them. Somehow inconsequent to turn that into what seems a pool party, fun & splash scene. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I think it would have been much more in line with 007's "licensed to kill" nature (and would have made the scene much better) if he had drowned them. I also think the opening scene where Bond chokes the girl with her bikini top would have been better if he had paused long enough to let her give him the information and had then finished strangling her. There's no way he could have known that she didn't have a weapon hidden nearby and would have used it on him once his back was turned. I know that the new Bond would certainly have ended both fights in a lethal manner. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

You really seem to want your "pound of flesh", don't you?

But then again, other "Bond" actors probably would have choked her until her eyes popped out.

In both cases, Bond is trying to get information from the girls in question, so killing them wouldn't be much of a solution. And in any case, Bond isn't in the habit of killing people unnecessarily. Sure, he's had his share of personal revenge killings, but in general, he doesn't abuse that license to kill he carries.

On the Bambi & Thumper question, you have to wonder just how serious Blofeld was about keeping Willard Whyte secure? A couple bikini-clad girls who know judo doesn't sound like the Blofeld I know. Maybe Bond had already killed off all his good henchmen?

Not all good. I wouldn't call Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd bad henchmen.

Oh, Wint & Kidd were DELIGHTFUL henchmen. Effective henchmen? Eh, not so much. But delightful all the same. Do you find this valuable?
