The challenge with Daniel Craig's interpretation of Bond is that comes off as an undisciplined thug. It seems like he kills without justification, for the pleasure of killing. In this sense it makes him little different than the "bad guys" that he goes after.Flemings character was a killer but a killer with a soul. Craig's interpretation has no soul. He doesn't listen to M... simply treating her as an annoying mother figure. He went on a rampage to take revenge on those who turned Verper. He turns on Mathis in CR, then recruits him to help in QOS, only to dump his dead body in a dumpster stating "he wouldn't mind". Connery's Bond had class. Moore's bond was amusing yet in some ways adolescent. Lazenby deserved more credit than he got. Dalton and Brosnan added some edge and character to Bond. So far Craig has added a bad attitude and a trail of dead bodies. Do you find this valuable? |
