Daniel Craig is absolute rubbish

I can't figure out why all you damn kids think that Daniel Craig is such a good Bond. Obviously it's not his fault that none of the classic moneypenny and Q scenes are in the more recent Casino Royale and Quantum, but he's not a particularily good actor, and does nothing the same as the Sean Connery, who was the original. The only thing you should really be debating is how close the other actors came to achieving a Connery-like performance.

Connery was quite afield from the Fleming Bond, and that's what the screen-Bond SHOULD be based on. You DO read, don't you? But then, why am I even debating this with a troll? The idea is to not copy Connery and make something new. Moore made it funnier, Dalton made it darker, Brosnan brought Bond back to us all and with more ass kicking and not so dark, and Craig makes it more the like the books and more cold. They all realized they needed to change if they wanted to be remembered for themselves as opposed to who was closest to Connery.

Funny how the thread starting negative posts always seem to be from 'Anonymous'. I sense someone trying to stir things up.Personally I find Craig's Bond to be very enjoyable specifically because he's NOT like any of the others. Connery was Connery, not Bond. Moore was Moore, as always. Dalton (for me) was trying to be a dark Connery. Brosnan was trying to be a tougher Roger Moore. Lazenby, I won't even go there. Yes, Connery is hard to beat and is my fave, I grew up with those films - fantastic. It's funny why you assume everyone is a "damn kid" in the forum, most "damn kids" I know favor Roger Moore as Bond!! Sorry Anonymous, Craig is the closest to portraying the brutality of Bond, as Sean did , though Connery's is suaver; everyone back in the day thought he was hot - women were fantasizing like crazy and he was macho enough to appeal to men in a non-threatening sense. Craig is more rugged looking and not near as suave as Sean. All the angst about Q and Moneypenny - anyone think they may show up in future films? If you think Craig's "not a particularly good actor", go Netflix a few - I doubt you will - you probably didn't realize it was him in "Road To Perdition", as Paul Newman's evil screwed-up son, check out "Layer Cake" , "Flashbacks Of A Fool", "Munich", "Enduring Love", "Defiance". Why are some people concerned about the lost frivolity and the return of the brutal aspects of Fleming's 007??.......Hello - he's an assassin!!! Take care.

Daniel Craig is almost perfectly ... inexpressive ! Besides, he doesn't have that natural charming, classy style a Bond character must have in order not to appear as blunt nor stuck-up. Bond should not try to convince with pure bodypower.

First George Lazenby did NOT make the mistake of trying to "copy "Sean Connery at all.....As back In the Sixties the "Connery Bond" WAS the Cinema James Bond - thus Lazenby WAS REQUIRED to "Be THAT Exactly Same Bond"....hence the Same hat...the Same Light blue suit...the Same Brown Golf outfit.... "SAME Old James" as Miss Moneypenny said....also we saw the characters FROM the Connery Bonds depicted in the opening sequence of O.H.M.S.S.- he had items from those films plus a similar car chase scene going after Tracy's car ...as Connery does in Goldfinger with Tilly Masterson's....as Lazenby's Bond is introduced... Lazenby DID add other aspects...falling in love etc...but to the (then) Basic SAME cinema Bond character.....at that point it was envisaged Bond was a set character, and would remain so whoever portrayed him.... It was Roger Moore who later changed things.......No hat in the Gun barrel scene....different clothes style ...NO Aston Martin, smoking cigars, etc....and a lighter tone DC to me seems FAR more "Bond-ish" when he is HIMSELF in interviews...Lighter, a Dry wit...a cool relaxed disposition...confident...good banter with the interviewer....we MUST now see THOSE QUALITIES in his version of Bond So far he's Only been allowed to be an "Expressionless Walking Guided Missile"....throughout ! The PRODUCERS MUST NOW let DC actually play a new version of Bond....that is his own version, tho' STILL recognisable as the character.... 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

It was the first time they made an actor change and they wanted the audience to know it the same character. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

All the Bond's made their character different from each others. As we have said many, many times; Moore was a lighter tone, Connery morphed the character into what made Bond famous, Lazenby was lover, Dalton was a dark tone version. Brosnan was suave, laid back killer, while Craig is still proving himself to the audienece and critics, yet he has showin already that he is trying to "be" the Bond from the books.

DANIEL CRAIG IS THE FITTEST ACTOR THAT HAS EVER PLAYED JAMES BOND AND I WOULD LOVE HIM TO STAY AS BOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Shut ya face.................... :(
