Bond cannot be black. Like everyone else wrote in this thread, Flemming created bond as a WHITE MALE. If the producers were to make a black bond they would have to reboot the series all over again because you cannot have a white bond turn into a black bond over night. The first reboot of the series was hard enough, I don't think I could handle another reboot. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

DON´T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! JAMES BOND BOND WAS CONCEIVED BY IAN FLEMING AS A WHITE MAN, SO, LET´S LEAVE IT LIKE THAT. LET BLACK PEOPLE CREATE THEIR OWN HEROES AND CHARACTERS, JUST BECAUSE WE´LL HAVE A BLACK USA PRESIDENT, DOESN´T MEAN THAT WE HAVE TO HAVE A BLACK SANTA, A BLACK SUPERMAN OR A BLACK JESUS CHRIST. "I think a black Bond could work, but wholeheartedly agree that it's far more important that Bond remain British. So I don't see Foxx in the role. Like Gettler, I could see someone like Colin Salmon pulling it off, though.

Of all the "concept Bonds" that have been suggested -- a gay Bond, a female Bond, an American Bond, a black Bond -- I think the black Bond would be the least problematic change for this particular character.

Of course, we all know this is just conjecture for the sake of conjecture. Actors having fun saying "What if...""

seriously...relax. i dont want to see a black bond either but ur coming on a little strong.
anyway i think a black bond wouldnt be the end of the world but i do not want to see it happen. keep it the fleming way.
i saw a commercial on t.v. the other day and it was for P. Diddy's cologne, he had a tux on and a bunch of beautiful women all over him. from watching that i really dont see how P.diddy let alone any black man can portray the roe of bond..

oh..and by the way...someone said Foxx was american so he cant be bond......George Lazenby was Australian so whats the big deal with an american (not necessary black)??? Do you find this valuable?

I don't see there being a black James Bond. I'm more used to the original: James Bond played as a white man. If a black james Bond movie came out, I might not go and watch it. All in all I'm probably saying that if James Bond was played by a black actor, it would turn out a lot like Triple X (xXx): The Vin Diesal movie. I loved it when Vin Diesal played the main character in the first movie, however when they brought in the black actor, I did not care for it.

Not to be rascist, my Godmother's an Aboriginal so I have nothing against anybody. Bond shouldn't be black because the character is a white male. You wouldn't think of casting a woman in the part of Bond so why change his skin colour. Besides hip hop wouldn't work for Bond.

I could so see him doing that. I could see him having a friend that is a rapper and Bond making fun of him by imitating the raper. Do you find this valuable?
