"First two performances I could buy, but by The Spy Who Loved Me, things were already very silly and Moore had already switched to humorous Bond mode (and was showing the first signs of porking up a bit)."
Yeah, LALD and TMWTGG are two of my favorites and the only ones of Moore's I'll watch more than once a year. Everyone else hates those movies though.

"This is my assumption - Bond 23 will be a follow up on QoS. We will finally find out the climax of the Quantum Orginzation. The trilogy will finally be complete.

What gives me this guess is the two bullets in Greene's head. The story shall continue!"
I read some where that bond 23 is not going to follow up QoS

The "humorous Bond mode" began with DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER; THE SPY WHO LOVED ME was the first quality Bond film since SECRET SERVICE and struck just the right balance of action and comedy (MOONRAKER of course, would tip the scales far too much in favour of the latter). For Moore's Bond, the best was yet to come with FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, a definite high point of the series.

Yeah, I really enjoy FYEO. It couldn't have come at a better time. Having a good one like that coming after Moonraker instead of another bad one was a good move. Brought the sanity back lol.

This is the strange thing about Bond, and Moore, for me... His best performances are in his first two movies, but the films themselves are pretty poor - Spy Who Loved Me, on the other hand, is a terrifically entertaining film (with massive flaws), but Moore is as wooden as an actor can be.

I think the issue of FYEO being a return to form is probably down to the fact that the planning phase was much longer - having been on the cards before Moonraker reared it's money-hungry head and tried to cash in on the Star Wars buzz.

But isn't a warrior ALWAYS doing something? If two people are having breakfast -- one a warrior, the other not -- doesn't the latter BECOME a warrior by doing the same as the warrior?

it takes discipline to be a warrior . copying someone eating breakfast is easy. two people going into the danger zone. one a warrior the other not, both feel the same fear , but the warrior goes forward with courage, regardless . ie a warrior is as a warrior does. copying this is not easy.

I hope it will adapt many of the aspects from the classic Bond films. I am also real keen on Craig returning to reprise his role as James Bond 007. The title that should be used is 007 in New York, or maybe the Property of a Lady. I think the "revenge" plot should be over, and Craig will have his mission finally become proffesional, and not personal. I think, with these factors, better camera work, a stand-alone plot not related to QOS or CR, and brilliant action scenes, Bond 23 will be extremely capable of great potential. 1  out of 1 found this valuable.
