A story from the Bond I grew up with - what do you think?
Oct 5 2008, 5:03 PM EDT Roger is back to his old self-deprecating himself. Paying homage to Connery and Craig's interpretations of the character. It's to see he still cares about the character. I always chafed when hearing Alex Guiness lambast Star Wars for making him known as Obi Wan. Give me a break Alec. I'm sure you were great in Hamlet and Macbeth, but how many people around the world have access to the Royal Shakespeare Academy? Anyway, I'm rambling. Reactions to Roger's article? 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: A story from the Bond I grew up with - what do you think?
Oct 5 2008, 6:21 PM EDT Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed it. He certainly covered it all - the history of the movies, the different actors playing Bond and I appreciate his feeling of protectiveness toward JB. I thought it was a great article and I have even more respect for Mr. Moore now than ever. Nicely done. Do you find this valuable? |

Oct 5 2008, 7:47 PM EDT The way I see it is like this. A former 007 who agrees with the fans. A former 007 who hit the nail on the head about JB! Do you find this valuable? |

Oct 5 2008, 7:50 PM EDT Great article and thanks for posting it. I for one, after reading the article, have some respect for Mr. Moore. I was one of those that thought he was offered the part of JB before Connery, but turned it down (due to his commitment to The Saint), it appears I was incorrect. I also like the fact that he acknowledged his own short commings as JB and the fact that Bond was becoming a caraciture of himself and needs reinvention to stay relevant. Do you find this valuable? |

Nice to see that he saw the negatives as well as the pluses. And he was spot on assessing HIS portrayal of Bond as well as the others'. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: A story from the Bond I grew up with - what do you think?
Oct 6 2008, 5:06 AM EDT Well, it just shows you how much we know about Roger Moore et al. Nice to hear what he had to say. Hes still got that humour. So when it comes to arguing whos the Best Bond then even Mr Moore himself has an opinion and its not that he is. Maybe this will help settle the debate. There shouldnt really be a topic called "whos the best Bond" anyhow. It should be whos your favourite Bond because it will be a question that will never...........ever...........be truly answered satisfactorily or whatever way you spell it lol. Over and out. Oct 7 2008, 2:02 PM EDT Thanks for posting this article. It was informative, well written, and of course witty (damn him). It is good to see that old 007´s stil is "on". Nice to see that the actors have (at least some) respect for each othter and their interpretation of JB. And it is so BRITISH. Love it! Do you find this valuable? |

RE: A story from the Bond I grew up with - what do you think?
Oct 10 2008, 5:52 PM EDT Though every actor is measured to SEAN, Roger Moore also kept the franchise going. Only difference being he did it his own way. Which also worked, or the Bond franchise wouldn't be here. Thanks 2 the SAINT. Do you find this valuable? |
