MOORE IS THE BEST BOND FOREVER
Aug 20 2008, 11:39 PM EDT With a bit of humour, sexual sarcasm, cunning wits and astonishing charm,it's no wonder Moore had potrayed the role of bond to it's perfection. 6 out of 11 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 23 2008, 10:47 AM EDT No he was a good enough actor but the scripts were bad and look at Octopussy and a view to a kill specifically, can we really believe a man in that bad physical shape has the stamina to pull off any of the physical requirements, including the sexual ones 2 out of 6 found this valuable. Aug 24 2008, 11:21 PM EDT You must realize that Moore is the most dependable Bond and his movies were all box office hits. The fact that Moonraker was the highest grossing movie in the world cinema in 1979 only proves that NO ONE CAME CLOSE TO ROGER MOORE 1 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 24 2008, 11:28 PM EDT No one can deny that Roger Moore still had the libido to pull it off with much younger Bond girls.I totally disagree that he lacks physical stamina. In A View To A Kill,Moore displayed his extraordinary physical strength especially the chase scene in a snowy mountain at the beginning of the film and the fight scene with Christopher Walken at the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. 0 out of 4 found this valuable. RE: MOORE IS THE BEST BOND FOREVER
Aug 26 2008, 9:22 PM EDT Daniel Craig might had taken the world by storm in Casino Royale but he is not the epitome of true Bond and only an incarnation of Sean Connery unlike Moore who is more independent and his styles were original proving once again NO ONE CAME CLOSE TO ROGER MOORE. 0 out of 4 found this valuable. RE: MOORE IS THE BEST BOND FOREVER
Aug 28 2008, 8:06 AM EDT The scripts were great. And while Moore strayed from the vision, unhelpfully, he still carried Bond through seven films because he is a delight to watch. No, what's bad about Moore is that his films were magnets for horrible ideas. Sheriff Pepper. Beach Boys music. Whistle-stop sound effect. Jaws becoming a good guy. Telling Bibi to put her clothes back on. Making a quiche. Ugh. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

You really don't actually believe that the production company would actually alloow their investment atop the golden gate brideg do you? Let's get a grip on reality. As far the ski scenes...Moore himself has admitted, he cannot ski. As far as his libido in the pre viagra Roger Moore days....well...I mean seriously. I'm not saying I hate Roger Moore but he lacked the physicality of all the others, including George Lazenby. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: MOORE IS THE BEST BOND FOREVER
Sep 1 2008, 9:56 AM EDT "Codey Codey Codey What Are We Going To Do With You?"I'm not by any means saying I despise Roger Moore, for the films that he starred in and the direction that the producers decided to take, Roger Moore is perfect. However- the Moore films with the exception of For Your Eyes Only, in my view, were the weakest of the series. Believe it or not I think FYEO is among the best of series, and Moore's best Bond film. That does not excuse in my mind virtually all the others which stacked agains all the Connery films, both Dalton films, Craig's, Brosnan and Lazenby's are more believable than Moore. I agree that he had crappy scripts that were just a bit too cute. If you like that sort ofthing, as I mentioned, you are probably a fan of the old Batman TV series or maybe even the Matt Helm films from the 60's. They are more camp that action adventure films. I have seen Roger Moore in many films and liked him, ffolkes immediately comes to mind. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: MOORE IS THE BEST BOND FOREVER
Sep 1 2008, 11:09 PM EDT Oh wait, I gotta pick on him one MORE time. Heh. The phony backgrounds. The closest Connery came to this problem was the phony background in the car, when the Three Blind Mice were chasing him. Moore did much worse than that, all the time. Skiing in The Spy Who Loved Me, that was about the worst of it. But he did it all the time. We like to pick on Lazenby for not even appearing in the movie where he's supposed to be. So I think this is a fair criticism. Actors get to speak up and say they WANT to do stunts. Look at Dalton and Craig. It makes a better movie when the actor is willing to risk some cuts and bruises (and dismembered fingers). 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |
