If he was No.2, does that mean he was second in command behind Blofeld? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"If he was No.2, does that mean he was second in command behind Blofeld? "
Aw man, anybody who's ever had to step in during the boss' vacation knows that would have really sucked for Largo. All the Why'd we do this, Why'd we do that, and you just wanna say...dude...you had to get out for a week, the price you pay is that some things weren't done exactly your way. But they'll work fine. Deal.

Obviously Largo would be high on the list of "Number Twos" who wouldn't have been able to say that. He'd probably get a "this organization does not tolerate failure" speech. But then, true to form, Blofeld of course would've had the *other* guy killed.

I'd sure like to know where the history of slang put "Number Two" in 1965. moore4ever's question makes it important that we find out; maybe Largo had a previous assignment and made a real stinky mess out of it. It's a little remarkable that joke was lying around untouched for 35 years before Mike Myers finally used it.
Do you find this valuable?

Largo was a great #2 but only Blofeld could pull off being #1. Too bad he died he was a classic supervillain. Do you find this valuable?
