New trailer - what do you think?
Jul 1 2008, 9:00 PM EDT I'm intrigued by the notion of Bond as a rogue agent. How far will they take it though? What does it mean for the future of the franchise if Bond is insubordinate to such a degree? I'm not sure Ms character should stand for it. 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

He "quit" in OHMSS, then went rogue in License to Kill, then again in Die Another Day. 2. He makes about 6 thousand pounds as a humble servant to Her Majesty, and pulls in enough gambling to snatch up an Omega Seamaster on a whim. http://astore.amazon.com/omega.seamaster.watch-20. Somehow, the question "so whatcha gonna do for a living?" doesn't quite pop up. He's be instantly retired, living the retirement of our dreams. End of story. Only things to keep #2 from being a real problem are: a vendetta, just like in LTK; someone else's vendetta on HIM; or, the necessity of working to clear his name. If it's the last of those, there's another problem because Bond is a master of disguise. He's gotten away with it -- um............. Oh, on second thought, Bond has never gotten away with a disguise. Yes, he could be forced to work to clear his name. Nevermind. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 2 2008, 2:02 AM EDT I'm glad the movies and Bond have gone back to a more serious format .... altho I think the "rouge agent" and disobiedance to M/MI6 will have to be somehow resolved if Bond is to get back "into the fold". Being a singelton in service to MI6 is one thing,being "beyond salvage" is quite another. Maybe by the end of QOS 007 will be more mature,seasoned and less impulsive....the 007 we know now. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 4 2008, 11:00 AM EDT yeah..i'm disappointed that the bond car is the same, but im excited for the boat scene because i think the last good boat scene was with Brosnan in "The World is Not Enough" also i think this new bon dis going to portray bond in LTK. hes out for the same thing as he was then (sanchez) but over all im excited and im catching a plane to see ti a week early in england!!! 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Jul 6 2008, 2:07 AM EDT YAWN is right! Did'nt we do the "homophobe" thing in another thread? This is about Bonds development as an agent and person. Will he conform to MI6 disapline or be "rouge" . We've seen in other films how 007 rejects authority,goes on out for revenge, but at the end returns to The Firm --- will this be the same or will he go to far? Will he be only a blunt instrument or the cool controlled secret agent at the end of QOS? I'm looking forward to finding out! Jul 9 2008, 12:24 PM EDT I like that they're tightening up the continuity for this "reboot" of the series. Instead of each film being its own discrete adventure, they're building large story arcs that carry from one film to the next. Instead of getting a whole new Felix and a whole new Blofeld each time (which I admit was part of the charm of the original series), it looks like they're really going to let the characters and relationships evolve as the series progresses. (It felt like they were starting let this happen during the Brosnan era, especially where Bond's relationship with M was concerned.) 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
