"how the fuck could you put ohmss 19th when everyone konws it is one of the top 5 bond films on her majesty's secret service is wicked .you fucking american retard who can't spell properly"
It appears to me that bond films are very subjective as the numerous different lists suggest! For whatever reason, I do enjoy the films and have my favourites which may very well differ from yours. No one can possibly be considered 'wrong' as there is no definitive list which states, against a list of criteria, which films are better than others! Even that list would be subjective. Lets face it, as film making and story telling goes they're all pretty shit!!! Why don't people enjoy what they enjoy and shut the fuck up!!! British.

1. OHMSS: a class act full of things that never happened to the other fellow
2. C R :brutal. A greatly needed reboot
3 NSNA : Would compare to Dr. No rather than TB. Great use of humor
4. GF :so many flaws, but I watch this more than any other. Love the 60s visuals, good story and humor
5. The Spy who Loved Me: good story, visuals, The Villain's water structure!
6. Dr. No : I love the Exotica feel of this one. Excellent intro with the dots and beeps)
7. For Your Eyes Only :closest to OHMSS. Both have fantastic stories. Both had Bond hiding from the bad guys in the Alps. The reference to Tracie in the opening sequence (which I do like. I think they should have done that at the beginning of DAF.)
8. Tomorrow Never Dies :my favorite Brosnan film. Love the tricked out BMW
9. DAF :Great visuals. Closest to Gold Finger, as far as atmosphere. Tragically flawed
10. LtK : I'm a sucker for the tropical locations. A bit too dark, though)
11. TB: Boring but full of cool toys and visuals
12. LALD: Weird in both good and bad ways
13. FRWL: First half boring. Makes up toward end
14. Moonraker: ludicrous but entertaining
15. AVTAK: Liked the part with the horses
16. Octopussy: Boring in India. Like the second half
17.TMWTGG: Had promise. Midget ruined it
18. DAD. Ridiculous but had its moments
19. GE: Boring. Doesn't leave impression on me
20. TWINE: Ditto
21. YOLT: Fatally boring. Totally redundant scenes. Bond out of Shape. Kept taking shirt off.

Goldeneye was an 'excellent' return of 007, after 6yr. hiatus. And an excellent performance of Brosnan as Bond. Boring? I dunno about that.

Well I haven't seen The Living Daylights or QOS so I didn't include them, but yes it all works out pretty much.
As far as Golden Eye, I don't know. I saw it in the theater. I bought the DVD and watched it a few times. It just doesn't stick with me. I don't hate the movie, and I remember after seeing it in the theater, it seemed like a nice comeback to the Connery style Bond. Perhaps I'm being too harsh. I'll watch it again (I do like the inclusion of Joe Don Baker and his little blue car :).

Yes, I think it's Pierce's best 007 film... Very much in the "classic" Bond style with sinister villains (006 was a very good adversary for Bond) and some awesome action. I like the opening of this one, although the freefalling-into-a-crashing-plane was kinda over the top... but other than that I can't really find anything wrong with this classic Bond outing. Always in my top 5 - a great entry vehicle for Brosnan as Casino Royale was a great entry vehicle for Craig. :)

Yes, I do agree.
I was just pondering on this subject the other day, though. We ( I ) give these old Bond movies a hard time due to bad writing. But when you think about it, most movies from the 70s and 80 really were BAD. Bad editing and sound, lazy writing, boring and meaningless dialog. Most of them seem like B movies or worse. Of course there were exceptions, but maybe Bond was just a victim of the times?

If anything, I would argue the writing in movies has gotten worse.

Yes. Perhaps in the last few years. I just noticed that around the late 80s with Lethal Weapon and Die-Hard, there was this transition where movies started to became good. Do you find this valuable?

Yet somehow,@ least the Bond movies, it all worked out after all these years. Bad writing or not, wouldn't you say?
