I think Lois Chiles' mother was older than Roger Moore. One of the reasons Moore threw it in after VTAK was he met Tanya Roberts' mom, realized SHE was his junior, and that was that. 2. I'd rather make it with Corrine that Mayday. Anyday. 3. Moore's fake-looking hairpiece was much less fake-looking in Moonraker. 4. As I said, the plot to drug up the horses was a complete, well, y'know, a complete bunny trail. 5. The scene with Bernard Lee in Venice was a piece of greatness. Bond struggling with nonsensical bureaucracy, just as we all must from time to time. M showing himself to be a somewhat cool boss. 6. Moonraker was made to cash in on the space craze. VTAK was made because someone had to make a boat payment. Moonraker has nearly two hours of terrestrial build-up to the Star Wars ripoff scene, and doesn't really have the feel of a cheap plot to cash on on the space craze. VTAK, on the other hand, decidedly feels like someone had to make a boat payment. 7. Nobody was short-changed with Moonraker (uh, Jaws doesn't count). Patrick MacNee was richly deserving of a much more dignified integration into the Bond franchise. 8. Bond did not make a souffle in Moonraker. 9. Bond "hit" every good-lookin' girl he could in Moonraker. He did not sleep downstairs on a chair under an old-lady blanket. 10. Many a Bond movie is completely lacking in any line so chuckle-worthy as "Take care of Mr. Bond; see to it that some harm comes to him." 11. Moonraker didn't have a police chief playing comedy relief. 12. You're just picking a fight with me because you want to see a list. Picking on the obsessive-compulsive list-makers is not cool. I'll work up a list of reasons why, later on. Do you find this valuable? |
