Dario, behind Oddjob, is probably the best henchmen Look at all he does:
Kills the lover of Lupe Lamora by cutting out his heart
kills (and presumably rapes) Della Leiter
watches the torture and maiming of Felix Leiter
Oversees the "contact" with Pam Bouvier at the bar, and gets into fight with Bond and Pam, shooting Pam in the back as she and Bond make their escape.
gives away Bond's identity to Sanchez, and attempts to kill him in crusher.
He nearly kills bond, has him right were he wants him, but then get of course, shot

Just one flaw in the development of this character, though.

A good half hour before Dario blows Bond's cover, maybe more, Sanchez is acquainted with the information that Bond is a former British Secret Service agent. Bond doesn't know about this, but the audience does. Kind of hurts that article of suspense.

On a related note, Bond should really stop approaching bad guys in disguises. For the bad guy to figure it out, and relatively quickly at that, has become a staple part of the Bond formula. Throughout, I'm sure, over a dozen movies, in forty years. Oh-for-whatever. Just stop it, Bond!
