George Lazenby would never have been better than Roger Moore... Perhaps better then Timothy Dalton, but it is hard to predict.

Whoever edited the forum page last, is it possible to put the page numbers of long threads (like this one) back on the forum home page like they used to be? That way we can go directly to the last page to reply? Thanks. Do you find this valuable?

I thought he complimented the movie very well. He did it justice and proved himself to a World of doubters. I would have liked to see Laz in later films with a bit more maturity. Maybe AVTAK? Do you find this valuable?

try 2 picture tha LAZ in DAF,LALD,TMWTGG, and top off his Bond career in TSWLM. that might give u some idea of what could have been, had he not quit in his prime. he would b in his late 30's, early 40's. not bad. after BOND, who no's. Tha ERN

Yes, Laz instead of Roger. Have nothing against the latter but perhaps it could have been better if there was a twist of fate??

concur, absolutely, w/ out a doubt. but, we'll never no. but , at least he had the BALLS 2 take on the Bond role, on the heels of Sir Sean Connery resignation from 007. hats off n cheers 2 tha LAZ 4 his efforts, regardless. Tha ERN

Agreed :D I do like Roger but I always thought he was an 'almost Bond'. I think he was just too stuffy and 'La-de-Da". I think he would have made a better Q or M than Bond (**ducking**) Do you find this valuable?

we were talkin' 'bout wats might have been had tha LAZ not given up his role as '007'. still, he did a commendable job under the circumstances, takin' over from Connery, in OHMSS. Tha ERN

Given Connery & Moore had FULL eras as Bond....even Brosnan did FOUR....Lazenby & Dalton for differing reasons each NEVER had a proper era...

I do think Actors need to do at least THREE Bond films for a proper era...to "Intro", then "consolidate", and finally "Establish" a version as Definitive.

Connery by "Goldfinger", Moore by TSWLM & Brosnan by TWINE, WERE Each readily accepted "As Bond" without question by the GENERAL Public overall.

So it's never really a level playing field to then compare Lazenby & Dalton...tho' each certainly make a notable impression whatever some fans may think.

I believe Moore played "Himself" largely...especially after Harry Saltzman dropped out of the production team...the "Raised Eyebrow" & silly "Smile" etc.....both his earlier "Saint" trademarks !

Had Lazenby Continued in the role I think Bond would have remained more closer to the Established film character....Lazenby & Connery Bonds are FAR closer than the Moore version - that's NOT any criticism of Moore whose series WAS very successful....

I think Dalton & Cubby WERE right to bring the character back towards Ian Fleming overall.

George Lazenby in retrospect...for a Male Model....did a terrific job !
