Bernard Lee and Judi Dench were very good. Robert Brown didnt make his memorable at all. I can actually remember lines from the other two. Nothing significant about Brown.

1 Judi Dench (In the Brosnan films)2 Bernard Lee 3 Robert Brown 4 Judi Dench (In the Craig films) -I dont remember Robert Brown at all, so for being un-memorable he's last. -Bernard Lee was excellent, tough, not afraid to get down and dirty when the necessity and really sums up Fleming's M. -Judi Dench in the Brosnan films was tough, and showed that slight soft touch for Bond that he/she always had, and showed a truly convincing commanding officer. -Judi Dench in the Craig films has become too soft and mothering. She forgives Bond for too much. Previously she and other M's, would have chucked him and probably had him court marshalled for some of the example of misconduct he has done so far. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

As a side note, the M in Never Say Never Again was surprisingly effective, and you saw a good character development from him.

The very least that would have been expected of him, right from the beginning would have been respect for his superior's something that Dench's M had previously been very much for. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Brosnan's Dench was vastly different from Craig's. For one, she wasn't as soft, and thats seen in the very first time she's seen on screen in GE. Also, she's not exactly welcoming him back in DAD when they trade him for Zao. She's way too soft in Craig's film. And another thing, she's needs to stay in her office. 1- bernard lee- didn't overuse him, great acting, the original, and best 2- judi dench- great acting,( a woman M?) but they used her way to often 3- robert brown-...

Judi Dench she has the toughness and the softness to speak to Bond, she disliked him at times but yet she cared about him not letting him know. I like the fact that she cared about him shows she has some humanity.

I think Dench is the best one for it.After all bond is about women and she is a woman. she has the maternal instinct and I like when they have her moving around all showing up other places use her more outside of the office showing up chasing Bond.I don;t want to see another stuffy ole man playing M. Do you find this valuable? |
