I dont think so. While I think it was one of the worst, I don't think it was the worst. Its action sequences were OK, but overall it wasn't was I ws looking for. I think Moonraker was the worst Bond movie.

I thought overall it was good. The cars were there, the action was there, i think it was missing the right villian. Gruves wasnt the right villian. His plan was cool, with the suit and all, but his plan was far-fetched.

I certainly understand why people say this, but I respectfully disagree. It's not so much that I think it's "good," but it does have assets that I think are overlooked by casually-thought-out criticism. Said assets aren't sufficient to catapult it to a top spot, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for DAD.

I find the "Bond Formula" irritating after awhile. The first half of DAD broke out of this on a massive scale. I think it was a ballsy move, but you can mess up a ballsy move. They didn't. It was well done all 'round.

I really like it when Bond is betrayed by an ally. Yes, it wasn't an award-winning mystery, the signs were all there and so forth. But good guys turning bad makes the installment interesting. It hasn't been done often enough. And as I've noted elsewhere, she is really, really hot.

I liked the way Bond dealt with that tired old Reuter's line about terrorists and freedom fighters.

I liked the sword fight. I really liked it.

MIND you, I'm not arguing that DAD deserves a spot in the top five or anything like that...I'm simply arguing it should be lifted out of the sewer. It has a lot of things that make Bond movies good, and it's missing a lot of things that make Bond movies bad.

Finally someone who agrees.

No no no no no. Not by a long shot. The Living Daylights, Moonraker, Tomorrow Never Dies, A View to a Kill, and The Man with the Golden Gun were all weaker entries than DAD.

I agree that there was too much CGI (the "parasurfing" scene was unforgivable), but the the film had a lot of strong points, including some great action sequences (the hovercraft chase, the progressively violent duel, the battle between TWO tricked out cars on the frozen lake). And I thought both Halle Berry and Rosamund Pike were better-than-average Bond girls.

I also appreciated all the references to the previous Bond films -- very fitting for Bond 20 to pay homage to the whole series. And of course, that little misdirection with Moneypenny and the VR goggles at the end was a nice touch. A fun movie and a solid Bond film. Baffles me why so many seem to have such a low opinion of it.
