Anonymous	What would have happend?? Feb 27 2008, 6:44 PM EST Let me pose this question....".What would the world of Bond be like IF they would have done the movies in the order of the books?" Personally, I wish that would've happend. As a reader first,the timeline has always been important to me as the stream of 007's life in and out of the "FIRM" . The changes he goes thru - from youth to middle age and how they reflect in his attidute toward his missions,women,health etc. What do you guys think??? ..........................................................C. You know what overlaps heavily with this, is "What if silly cold-war era invention called s.p.e.c.t.r.e. had never seen the light of day?" First of all, you'd have to rip a lot of stuff out of FRWL and put it somewhere else. I really like the idea of Bond finding out just a little bit at a time what's going on in the SMERSH organization, and I think the movie rearrangement was most damaging to that story arc. There'd have been a lot less "plastic surgery" in the Blofeld trilogy. And Moonraker would have been much, much better. Quote & reply Post reply 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Yes,and I think things would've progressed more logically ( if I can use that word) because by keeping the movies in order (like the books), ALL the movies would have,in a way, been sequels---as when IF left hints to the previous story in the next book. This would've been a good part to place in all the movies,not just Dr. No (new gun referance to FRWL- (previous book but "next" movie). I think SPECTRE would have made its logical apperance in TB, but all that great SMERSH stuff would have gone before. And---- YES! Then we would have known how Bond started before Dr.No. The down side to that is that we my never have had good movies such as Goldeneye, etc..........
