| Bernard Lee Bernard Lee appeared with Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore as the first M. Seems to show distrust in Connerys bond at first then becomes closer to him in other movies professionally. With George Lazenbys bond show total distrust in Lazenbys bond and relieves him by giving him two weeks leave and taking bond off the Blofeld case saying bond couldnt properly take Blofeld out and insists 008 to replace bond. Bernard Lee passed away in 1981 around time of filming For your eyes only. Out of respect they put M`s character on holiday and had M`s lines transferred to Minister of Defense and Bill Tanner. | |
Robert Brown
had little humor in his films and is the only M to have James Bond`s licence to kill revoked showing no sympthy or regret in the Dalton film Licence to Kill | |

Bernard Lee -- the BEST!! Too bad he passed away--it was perfect casting.Robert Brown seemed a more minor role in his movies, not quite the gravity of the others.Judi Dench was very good as well--but a former Admiral (traditionaly the head of MI6),HMMMM???? But she's still a hardcase boss.
