| Brosnan again, but a slightly devalued Bond. Plot's about a media mogul who makes his own conflict-headlines. A bit over-written in places. Too many worthless chases. Jonathan Pryce makes an ineffectual villain. Teri Hatcher shows up briefly and is killed. Michelle Yeoh kicks things up as Chinese agent. Odd little sequence with Vincent Schiavelli as assassination specialist Dr. Kaufmann. As soon as garage-chase ends, it all goes downhill. Final battle on "stealth-boat" in interminable. Bond ends up with girl...on pieces of a boat. | |
| Moore4ever | Brosnan dons the tux again for a second time. If it wasn't for Goldeneye, this might be my favorite Bond film from Brosnan. What can is there to say? Brosnan delivers a great entry into the series. Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) might as well be Mrs. Bond, she's just as good as Bond is. Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) makes a great villain and one of my favorites. Teri Hatcher as Paris is a little annoying at some point, but still makes up as a great Bond girl beauty. The chase scene with the BMW is great to watch, it might as well rival the tank scene from Brosnan's first outing. A very touching scene I might add is where as the end fades to the credits, there is a dedication to Cubby Broccoli. |

Tomorrow never dies is a very decent Bond film. It follows, quite well, the introduction laid out by it's predecessor and doesn't fail to entertain.
Many of the action scenes are unforgettable. The introduction of Michelle Yeoh as a tough martial arts equivalent to Bond's gadget heavy, gun toting characteristics is very successful in helping the adventure progress. The "Stealth boat" is a campy stretch. The henchman to Carver is reminiscent of Bernard Shaw from From Russia With Love...in a good way. The overall idea behind the plot is a bit weak but easily forgivable due to the craftiness of the action sequences. 8/10 |
