Timothy Dalton Bio |
Timothy Dalton pictures
Timothy Dalton is considered the "gritty" Bond, whose portrayal signalled a more realistic characterization, away from what Bond had evolved into during the Moore films.
Dalton was born in Colwyn Bay, Wales on March 21, 1946, but grew up in Manchester. He has a strong theatre background. He joined the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1966 and played many leading roles. Offered the role of Bond as early as 1968 ("OHMSS"), Dalton followed
Roger Moore in 1986 and made two Bond films,
The Living Daylights and
Licence To Kill. After the 6 year layoff of the Bond series, Dalton announced in 1994 that he would not return as Bond.

- Bond: I'll do anything for a woman with a knife.
- Pam Bouvier: Oh god, it's Heller!
- (after Heller's corpse comes through a wall impaled on the tines of a forklift truck)
