Brief Bio:
One of the key players in the sucess of the Bond action sequences, Simmons was a long time stuntman but progressed to stunt coordinator. He doubled for Sean Connery in many films and it is he, not Connery, who appears in the opening gun barrel of the first three Bond movies. His autobiography is entitled Nobody Does It Better.

Best Remembered For:
The trampoline effect. This is used when trying to simulate actors being blown away by explosions.

Bob Simmons worked on 12 of the first 14 'Bond' films. Above 9 have been listed. The 3 that have been missed are 'From Russia With Love' (1963), 'Moonraker' (1979), and 'Octopussy' (1983). P.S. He was born 31st March 1923 and not as stated above 1922. (Colin Webber).

Bob Simmons received a Hollywood Motion Picture Hall of Fame award for Best Stunt Co-ordinator 1980-1981, for the 'Bond' film 'For Your Eyes Only'. Source: Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame Members. (Colin Webber)
