Who is he: He is a MI6 Operative, head of V-Branch in Czech Republic
How he met Bond: When Bond is sent to Bratislava, Czech Republic to retrieve Defective KGB Agent General Georgi Koskov, he reports to Saunders first to receive instructions and weapons. They meet in an Orchestra Box.
How he helps Bond: He gathers information about Brad Whittaker, Koskov partner. He also gives Bond all the supply, passport, and weapons he need on is missions in the Czech and Austria.
How he is dispatched: Trapped in automatic doors.

Twice within the first 15 - 20 minutes in the film The Living Daylights Saunders pulls rank on 007. Firstly telling him that the information concerning Koskov's escape is on a need to know basis only and secondly telling him that he had deliberately disobeyed an order by deliberately missing Kara Milovy. But isn't Bond technically a higher rank than Saunder's thus making Bond able to override any one of Saunder's orders?
