Pussy Galore - James Bond
Appears in:

Actress:

Background on Blackman:
  • At 37, Honor Blackman was the oldest Bond Girl, but one of 007's most unforgettable lovers. The name Pussy Galore caused controversy in the 1960s and this is one of the elements that makes Pussy Galore so memorable.

Who Pussy is:

  • Pussy Galore is the sexy leader of Pussy Galore's Flying Circus and plays an instrumental role in Auric Goldfinger's daring raid on Fort Knox.
  • Pussy Galore is only a shadow of her literary counterpart. While it is not mentioned in the film, Pussy was a lesbian. This is hinted when Bond tries to charm her, to which she replies "I'm immune." Bond not only succeeds in seducing her, but makes her call Washington to exchange the fatal nerve agent Delta 9 with a harmless gas.

Bond babe name ranking?:
  • #1(of course)

How she and Bond meet:
  • Bond regains consciousness onboard Goldfinger's personal jet to find Pussy sardonically appraising him, leading to this classic exchange:
    • Bond: "Who are you?"
Pussy: "My name is Pussy Galore."
Bond: (pause) "I must be dreaming..."

    Defining dialogue:
    • "You can turn off the charm. I'm immune" - in response to Bond's attempts to charm.

    Vital statistics:
    • 5' 6" 37C-23-35 (Source: Celebrity Sleuth magazine)

How she helps save the day:
    • She informs the CIA about Goldfinger's plan having succumbed to Bond's charms, and in some way she is more of a damsel in distress because she eventually gives in to the charms of Bond.

    Bikini moment:

    • None, but Pussy rocked some kicking gear in the movie.

    Interesting trivia:
    • Worried about censorship, producers considered changing Pussy Galore's name to "Kitty Galore". They kept the original name when British newspapers began to refer to Honor Blackman as "Pussy" in the lead up to production. And they say there's no bad PR....Love HER! Shes so cunning and witty. Not to mention the name is A CLASSIC!
