This is the first Bond movie since Dr.No and From Russia with Love to REALLY stick to the book.Lazenby did a good job for the first-next- Bond. The mood was very Fleming and the cast was excellent with Diana Rigg and Telly Salvalas. I wish they all stuck to this book format. After this they became almost comedys. I f Connery was in this movie it would have been perfect.

I agree that this was one of the best 007 movies and I wish Lazenby stuck around for 7 more. He had more depth than he gets credit for. I also don't think acting like Sir Hilary Bray or falling in love was bad, these were character developments that Bond needed to show. A more human side and the ability to go undercover. He is a SPY after all and a man who does have feelings. Connery did that from time to time, ala when he shoots Dent in Dr.No--he does it because he has to,but its clear from the look on his face that he did'nt like it.No smarmy quip or "all in good fun" attitude like Moore. The final scene in OHMSS when he breaks down over Tracy's death was maybe the best 007 moment yet.
