Muse 'volunteers' for next Bond themeThis is a featured page

Muse drummer Dominic Howard has said that the band would be up for recording the theme song to a forthcoming James Bond film.

Howard told BBC News that he was confident that the trio could tackle the task and has suggested that the Devon band's tendency towards the epic would suit such a film.

"It's something we'd probably say yes to, or at least give it a good go," he said. "Certainly some of our music fits with the James Bond vibe – and I think it could work. "'United States Of Eurasia' [from new album 'The Resistance'] could have worked but it's probably a bit late for that now.

"It's a bit weird in the Hollywood world, because you spend a lot time being told what to do and that's a bit of a pain because we like to do what we want. So, I think if you can find a director you can really relate to and it's a great film and you know you can work well together, then it could be a possibility."

'The Resistance', Muse's fifth studio album, was released on Monday (September 14). Listen to it in full by clicking on the We7 widget below.

Will Muse sing for Bond 23? Sound off in the forum.

You know, I think they would be good for a bond theme. I would prefer them over Jack White and Alicia Keys, no offense to them, but i thought "Another way to die" was pretty interesting, but i think it went a bit too over the top.
I think Muse would do a good job or the group H.I.M., both groups have a great sound and would definitely fit in with Daniel Craig's films. I just hope that whoever gets the job of writing and singing the theme does a good job and takes the music back to a sound like- "Duran Duran's A view to a kill",
"A-ha's The living daylights", or "Chris Cornell's you know my name."

Hey I know! When our new album drops let's offer to do a theme song for one of the most successful film franchises of all time. Then we'll get some free publicity!

So, Bond fans, what would you 'volunteer' for? I'd like to be a second rate henchmen myself. You know one that gets shot by a Bond Girl toward the end.
