Who he is:
- Mr. Jones poses as a chauffeur from Government House and picks Bond up at the airport when he arrives in Jamaica. Bond calls Government House and confirms that Jones is an imposter, but agrees to ride with Jones anyway.
- On their way from the airport, Bond instructs Jones to pull off, and then demands to know who hired him. Bond punches him around for a minute and Jones agrees to talk. He asks Bond if he can smoke a cigarette. When Bond agrees, Jones grabs a special cyanide-laced cigarette and commits suicide.
Attempted methods of killing Bond:
- Jones never attempts to kill Bond, but we assume that he was driving the car to some place where Bond would have been killed.
How he is dispatched:
- Kills himself with a cyanide-laced cigarette.

- (Dying words, through clenched teeth) To hell with you!
- Stunt man Bob Simmons doubled for Carter in the fight with 007.
