Bond Novels | Ian Fleming | Fleming Essays | The Literary Bond |
In late 1981, John Gardner was asked to revive the James Bond novel series. And so, from 1981 to 96', Gardner wrote a total of 14 novels. He also wrote two novelization of two films, GoldenEye and License to Kill. Though his work was generally well received, many criticized him for his work, on someone he had not even created. Many stated his literary Bond was opposite of Fleming. Out of rage, Gardner retired in 1996, with his final book appropriately titled "COLD Fall". Reymond Benson then picked up the series in early 1997.
