It was extremely predictable Goldfinger would win. I was still rooting for Casino Royale though.

Even though Casino Royale beat From Russia With Love in this contest, nothing will change my mind that From Russia With Love is the best 007 film of all time.

Well well. WHo said David couldnt beat Goliath. In a shocker that made heads turn, Dr. No beat GoldenEye to reach the Semi's against Top Dog Goldfinger.
Other wins included Casino Royale (2006) over Thunderball, From Russia With Love over The Spy Who Loved Me, and Goldfinger topping You Only Live twice. So what are all your thoughts on the Quarterfinals? And as always, remember to Vote Vote Vote!!!!!!!! Cedric

I *love* this matchup. Arguably these are the two films in the entire series that best capture Fleming's vision. They're also (for my money, anyway) based on the two best Bond novels.
Either one could have a reasonable shot at unseating Goldfinger in the finals. I'm stumping for FRWL. Think about it: Blofeld feeding the Siamese Fighting Fish to his cat; Klebb's creepy interview of Tania; the scene where Grant shadows Bond on the train; the ferocity of their struggle in the berth; the execution of Kronsteen. Pedro Armendariz, Lotte Lenya, Robert Shaw, Daniela Bianchi... and the first appearance of Desmond Llewelyn. This is the one.

Round two of the James Bond Tournament is now up and Running!
Did your film make it to the 'Big Dance'? Find out here: http://www.jamesbondwiki.com/page/James+Bond+Tournament Connery is in fine shape. All of his 'official' films are still going! Moore has 3 strong films out. Georgie looks fine as he recieves Runner-Up in Group A and moves on! Dalton's ''The Living Daylights'' moves on! but sadly not License To Kill (surpise!) Pierce Brosnan is smiling as only Die Another Day was eliminated! Please vote for your fav's in Round two! So what do all you fans think? Any 'upsets'? or suprises? Mine has- to- be License To Kill being eliminated. Cedric

I am happy of this competition, but it is unfair. Diamonds are Forever vs. Goldeneye, DAF doesn't stand a chance or Golfinger against Tommorow Never Dies, Goldinger will win for sure. Shouldn't they put DAF against TND that would be a real fight.

Am I the only one that finds it somewhat criminal that The Living Daylights survived Round One? Of course, that's only because it got a lucky draw when it was matched up against Moonraker, but still.
The Round Two matchups are all easy picks for me, except for Thunderball v. OHMSS. That's a tough call. I also favor For Your Eyes Only over You Only Live Twice, but I have a hunch I'm pulling for the underdog on that one.
