James Bond 007: The Duel (known as 007 ****** in Japan) is a James Bond game released for the Sega Master
System, the Sega Game Gear and the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

The game is loosely based on the Bond-movies with Ian Fleming's secret agent 007. The game was developed and published by Domark and released in 1993.

Plot:
James Bond 007: The Duel.
Armed with a PPK and Q's notorious gadgets, the player controls James Bond 007 through various side-scrolling enemy bases to rescue female hostages and arm a bomb placed at a strategic point to destroy the base.
Along the way Bond must fight against numerous thugs and familiar bosses including Oddjob and Jaws.










References to Bond Films:

  • Many critics state that James Bond 007: The Duel has a likeness to Timothy Dalton's performance, License to Kill, although the game was released 4 years after Dalton's last outing as agent 007.

  • Also, The Duel is the first Bond game not to have its storyline based on a movie or novel. The game feature an original storyline (through the storyline is not The Duel's strongest point).
