James Bond... The biggest film franchise in history (other than Star Wars, Star Trek, and Harry Potter). By creating the character of James Bond, Ian Fleming opened the world's eyes to the excitement and suspense that became a hallmark of the spy-thriller genre. Once the character of James Bond was projected onto the big screen, his potential as a viable commercial success was established for writers, producers, and actors around the globe.
