This was driven by Bond when he was on his way to the Ocean Club in The Bahamas. He later acquired an Aston Martin DBS V12 in Montenegro which makes us conclude that the Ford was just a rented car. Before selling Aston Martin (after the movie) Ford used to own Aston Martin, that is why they placed a Ford in the movie as well for product placement.
This car is on display in the James Bond Experience at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.

The Mondeo appearance in the Bond movie was actually the world debut of that version of the Mondeo. It was a newly updated version of the car that to that time had not yet been revealed officially. Many auto spy photos were taken during the filiming, much to Ford's dismay. The car in the movie was a design prototype as the actual production cars would not be for sale until the time the movie was set to release. Having it in the movie was a paid publicity stunt for Ford. It fell flat in the US market as the Mondeo is not sold there, unfortunately for Americans. And also because it's kind of a mundane car, not a gadget car. It is a good looker though.
