Dario bio / Dario Pics and Clips Benicio del Toro started his award-winning acting career as "Dario" in "Licence To Kill"

Appears in: Licence To Kill

Actor: Benicio Del Toro

Dario is a sadistic murderer and bodyguard for Franz Sanchez. Possibly drug addict and psychopathic, he enjoys torturing his victims and delights in bloodshed. According to Pam Bouvier, Dario is so twisted that not even the Contras would have anything to do with him. In spite of his many evil traits, he is fanatically loyal to Sanchez.

Attempted methods of killing Bond:

  • bar-fight
  • puts Bond on conveyor to cocaine packet-crusher

How he is dispatched: Dario gives away Bond's identity to Sanchez. 007 sets off a fire in a cocaine factory in an attempt to escape, but he is nonetheless apprehended by Sanchez and his men. The enraged drug lord throws Bond onto a conveyor belt to be dropped into an industrial-strength grinder and then leaves to attend to other matters. Dario stays behind to insure that Bond dies. Bond manages to hook his wrist restraints on the belt's edge just before he falls into the grinder, so Dario pulls his switchblade and prepares to cut through the ropes to kill him. Before he can do this Pam Bouvier appears and shoots at him, momentarily distracting him. Before Dario can recover himself Bond grabs his foot and pulls him over the edge into the grinder. Dario screams in horror and agony as he is dragged feet-first through the machine, which shreds him to bits.

Evil scheme: Dario is Franz Sanchez's personal guard and knife-man.

  • Kills the lover of Lupe Lamora by cutting out his heart
  • Kills (and presumably rapes) Della Leiter
  • Watches the torture and maiming of Felix Leiter
  • Possibly killed all Leiter's contacts who were involved on Sanchez's CIA and DEA file, except Pam Bouvier
  • Oversees the "contact" with Pam Bouvier at the bar, and gets into fight with Bond and Pam, shooting Pam in the back as she and Bond make their escape.
  • Gives away Bond's identity to Sanchez, and attempts to kill him in crusher.

How plans were foiled: Bond infiltrates Sanchez's organization and destroys all the trucks and manufacturing facilities.

Defining dialogue: "Don't worry. We gave her a nice honeymoooon."

Benicio Del Toro was great but did not like him as Dario, not that he was bad but he was too good as a villian.
Him and his cronies "suggestedly" gang-banged Felixes wife like "A clockwork orange". And I was happy when this
little ****** got sliced and diced in the cocaine shredder. And for his cronies Bond set their car on fire and sent them
over a cliff

i think oddjob and jaws are the best henchman but dario is also the best henchman in a sick and twisted way. i mean do u see how egerly that man watched felix leiter being maimed by a shark and how excited he was when he was about to cut bonds rope as he was hanging above the cocaine crusher
