I know I'm probably new at this but somehow I found this rather strange. I finally got the 4 007 box sets from '06 (I sort of wanted to wait until it was downloadable before getting the series but it was just too good a deal) and was looking through the pamphlets it came with. It had a lot of fascinating information but one sort of surprised me: there was more than one official Bond Girl in CR! Obviously Ursula Andress (Honey Ryder) was one of the stars, but it revealed to me that Angela Scoular (Ruby Bartlett from OHMSS) did this movie too. I looked on IMDB and found that she did a character named "Buttercup"...of course while I had seen the movie before, it had been years ago and I don't have the DVD of it yet. But luckily MGM has CR '67 up on Youtube so I decided to watch it and see where she was.
Strangely enough you don't have to wait long: Buttercup is one of "M"'s daughters rather early on in the movie, the one who ends up giving David Niven a bath (while she's in the tub with him). She looks less "weird" than she does in OHMSS (then again the curly hair and the huge glasses probably makes her one of the stranger Bond girls though she is charming), but she has this really thick, obvious Scottish accent (is it just me or does she get a lot of accents) and we don't see that much of her in the tub. (we probably see more of her in another scene but it's rather hard to pick out which she is among all the red headed lasses) She does look a lot cuter than in the other movie but...that probably was the role she was playing. I just found it fascinating reading about and looking into it. BTW: Wiki also states that a "not quite Bond girl" was in it too...OK, Naomi really doesn't count as a Bond Girl since she flies a helicopter, shows Bond around Stromberg's base and then become open season for Lotus missiles...
