The privilege of playing James Bond and Jason Bourne belongs to one man – who lives in Bracknell.

Stunt superstar Kai Martin was body double for actors Daniel Craig and Matt Damon, the big-name stars who get the credit. Kai, of Burnsmoor Chase, Forest Park, has been a Hollywood stuntman since his big break stepping in for Steve Zahn in 2004’s Sahara. Since then he has appeared in Batman Begins, Doctor Who, The Bourne Ultimatum, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

Kai, 30, said: “Being a stunt man is something I always wanted to do."At first I wanted to be a professional footballer but when that didn’t come off because I wasn’t good enough I looked at properly getting into being a stunt man.” The role most people might have seen Kai is when he doubled for Daniel Craig in the opening scene of Casino Royale – a thrilling chase through a building site and a fight at the top of a crane. Kai, whose hobbies include climbing and base jumping, joins a group of stunt people living in the borough including Vic Armstrong of Indiana Jones fame, who Kai describes as “a legend”, and 78-year-old Doug Robinson who appeared in Star Wars.

Kai, who was brought up around Hampshire and has lived all over the country, said: “I don’t know what brings stunt men to the area. "I came here about two years ago because it’s close to Pinewood Studios [in Buckinghamshire] and Shepperton Studios [in Middlesex] but I feel more settled here than anywhere else I’ve lived.”
