Quantum of SolaceProjected Release date: Nov 8, 2008

Name: Quantum of Solace
More to come soon on rumors and updates for Bond 22 (22 is in reference to the fact that this will be the 22nd official Bond film - not counting Never Say Never Again).

Plot line: Producer Broccoli confirmed that Bond 22 would be a continuation of Casino Royale. In fact it supposedly "starts two minutes after Casino Royale ended." Daniel Craig himself may have hinted at the direction of Quantum of Solace when he stated that the events of Casino Royale would lead Bond to "go out for revenge". If true, Quantum of Solace would be the first true 007 sequel. Eva Green has stated in an interview that Vesper's boyfriend mentioned in Casino Royale may be the villain in Quantum of Solace. It is also possible she may return in a flashback/video scene.

Director:
EON pictures originally wanted Roger Michell ("Notting Hill", "Changing Lanes") to direct buthe did not agree with its production schedules so he bowed out. Probably some crap about "artistic differences". Marc Forster, director of Finding Neverland, has been slated to helm the next film in the Bond franchise. The German filmmaker recently wrapped the big-screen adaptation of the The Kite Runner. Before that, he tried comedy with Stranger Than Fiction; was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on the Peter Pan-inspired drama Finding Neverland, which also landed Johnny Depp his second Oscar nomination; and directed Halle Berry to an Oscar win for Monster's Ball. It seems Halle didn't consult Forster when inking her deal for Cat Woman....

"I have always been drawn to different kinds of stories and I have also always been a Bond fan, so it is very exciting to take on this challenge," Forster said. "The new direction that the Bond character has taken offers a host of new possibilities." He and Oscar-winning Million Dollar Baby scribe Paul Haggis are expected to start tackling a first draft that was written by Neil Purvis and Robert Wade.
