The exotic locations and adventures depicted in the Bond films have always intrigued me... and I guess a lot of my life experience at least up to now has been amazingly along those lines. I've traveled to exotic locations such as Hong Kong, Japan, Okinawa, Taiwan, Philippines, Guam, Palau, Yap, Pohnapei, Truk (Chuuk), and Hawaii. During my high school and college years overseas, I took classes in Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and I've also picked up a bit of Hindi, Tagalog, Kampampangan, Chamoru, and Palauan as a part of being in those environments. My degree is in biology with a minor in chemistry and my graduate degree was working toward a MS in marine biology. I've worked as a contractor technical editor/writer with NASA on the Space Station/Space Shuttle project, I've worked as a technical editor/writer documenting small and large lasers, I've also provided documentation for supercomputing, networking, biotech, and marine research facilities. I've worked down the hall from a mock-up of the International Space Station Research Modules (Centrifuge Facility and Gravitational Biology Facility); toured a modern nuclear submarine base; rode a tourist submarine to a depth of 130' off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii; documented radars and missile launchers; documented lasers, and worked at a marine laboratory. So the science and technologies of James Bond really appeal to me as well--if I were working in the James Bond world, I'd probably be in the lab with Q or assisting Bond with linguistic training.

Top 5 favorite films in order:1
1. You Only Live Twice 2. Dr. No 3. Moonraker 4. Octopussy 5. Goldeneye & Tomorrow Never Dies (tied)
Top 5 favorite Bond moments:
1. In You Only Live Twice, when Bond is at the Sumo Match and meets Aki (Akiko Wakabayashi), and she leads him to Tiger Tanaka's lair in the abandoned Tokyo subway station. And the subsequent hot-tub/massage scene. Wow!
2. The snorkeling scene in Thunderball where Bond contacts Domino Derval (by rescuing her from her foot being caught in the coral) ... very nice snorkeling and underwater images.
3. In Moonraker, the scene where Bond flies in a hang-glider over the waterfalls in the Amazon jungle and lands at the river's edge below and follows the women to the hidden simulated "Ancient Temple" that houses the Moonraker launch complex. Where Dr. Goodhead and Bond escape from the blast containment area and manage to don astronaut gear for the flight to the space station.
4. In Goldeneye, the chase scene through St Petersburg where Bond is driving a Russian tank through the streets, through buildings, along the canal, and eventually to the railroad tracks. Fun to watch.
5. In Tomorrow Never Dies, when Wai Lin and Bond are on the Chinese/Vietnamese junk in the scenic waters of the South China Sea (Supposedly near Vietnam--but really in Thailand)... having an ideological discussion but also in a beautiful environment. .... Tied with the scene in the Man With The Golden Gun ... in the scenic waters off Thailand's Phiphi Island ... Scaramanga's lair. (You can tell I love the tropics!)
